As Abu Dhabi Airports continues to welcome new global tenants to the Logistics Park at Abu Dhabi Airport Business City, the Company today announced signing an agreement with DHL to lease a 2,880 square metre warehouse located at the Logistics Park.

The newly launched Abu Dhabi Airport Business City is currently operating three main facilities and services; the Logistics Park, the Business Park and the Business Centre. Each one of these concepts plays a direct role in developing the future “aerotropolis” at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Within this “aerotropolis”, businesses can establish themselves with ease within a functional and livable environment that will include residential, recreational, retail, and lifestyle districts. In the Logistics Park, businesses are able to initiate operations immediately through a number of facilities including fully serviced offices, high quality warehouses and a customer service centre.

Mohammed Al Bulooki, Abu Dhabi Airports’ Chief Commercial Officer commented, “Abu Dhabi Airports looks forward to supporting DHL as it works to increase its footprint at Abu Dhabi Airports.  The advantages of location and the efficient “one-stop-shop” services at Abu Dhabi Airport Business City make it the right business partner for such global companies, and will enable them to realize the benefits of locating near the gateway to the Capital.”

Commenting on the signing Frank-Uwe Ungerer, Country Manager DHL Express UAE, said: “As the world’s leading logistics company, we are always keen on expanding and engaging with the right partners across the 220 countries that DHL currently covers. That is why DHL decided to enter Abu Dhabi Airport Business City, with its full range of necessary services and facilities to cater to the needs of any business.”

“As Abu Dhabi is set to become one of the leading commercial and industrial cities in the world, it is becoming attractive for long-term developments and businesses to establish a presence in the Emirate as it expands progressively and sustainably. DHL was the first logistics company to enter the UAE and Middle East back in 1976 and we look forward to continuing to enhance our presence and offer a wide range of logistics solutions throughout this region and beyond,” he added.

The Logistics Park, which spreads over a total area of 114,000 square metres, and already more than 85% occupied, offers value-added services specific to logistics, storage, freight and light industrial sectors.

All tenants of the Logistics Park, Business Park and Business Centre, which make up the Abu Dhabi Airport Business City, will be provided with a full spectrum of integration services including company registration, licensing, leasing and rapid visa processing for employees in a “one-stop-shop” environment.  They also will be able to enjoy duty and tax exemptions, foreign ownership, and repatriation of capital and profits.
